One of the great advantages of Arinaga is how close it is to Gran Canaria airport, located at Gando. It is about 15 km away, so in just 15-20 minutes you can be settled into your apartment and starting your holiday. Here is how to get to Arinaga depending on how you prefer to travel.

By hire car

This is the most convenient option if you want to explore the island freely. Several car hire companies are located in the arrivals hall. From the airport, take the GC-1 motorway southbound and follow the signs to Arinaga. The journey takes about 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic.

Having a car also lets you take day trips to places such as the historic centre of Agüimes, the Barranco de Guayadeque or the Maspalomas dunes.

By taxi

There is a taxi rank outside the arrivals hall, available at all hours. It is a quick, direct option, ideal if you have a lot of luggage or arrive at night. The fare depends on the current rates and the time of day, so we recommend asking the driver before you set off.

By bus (“guagua”)

In the Canary Islands, buses are called “guaguas”. The Global bus company connects the airport with different parts of the south-east of the island. Routes and timetables can change, so check them on Global’s website or app before you travel. It is the cheapest option, although you may need to change buses.
